A Guide to Getting the Right Sabacc Deck for the Right Sabacc Game

In the Star Wars Galaxy, if you want to play Sabacc, you'll be spoiled for choice. There are four primary kinds of Sabacc game - Classic, Corellian Spike, Coruscant Shift and Kessel - and a fistful of lesser known variants as well.

Watch out though - to play these games, you need the right kind of Sabacc deck! They aren't all the same, and each has unique features that come into play. This is our guide to getting the right Sabacc deck for the games you want to try out:

62 CARD SABACC SPIKE OR SHIFT DECK

WHERE HAVE YOU SEEN IT? - The Star Wars: Solo film, Galaxy's Edge Resort

WHAT CAN YOU PLAY WITH IT? - Corellian Spike, Coruscant Shift

WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT IT? - It uses 3 suits instead of the traditional four; each suit is split into positive and negative cards; it has two wild cards called 'Sylops' (the Corellian word for 'Idiot')

76 CARD CLASSIC SABACC DECK

WHERE HAVE YOU SEEN IT? - In the Expanded Universe and Legends era, and in Star Wars: Rebels

WHAT CAN YOU PLAY WITH IT? - Old-style 'Classic' or 'Traditional' Sabacc

WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT IT? - It has 4 primary suits called Flasks, Staves, Sabers and Coins, and a special fifth suit of Aspect cards, containing The Idiot, The Queen, Endurance, Balance, Demise, Moderation, the Evil One and The Star.

44 CARD KESSEL SABACC DECK

WHERE HAVE YOU SEEN IT? - In the Star Wars: Outlaws game.

WHAT CAN YOU PLAY WITH IT? - Kessel Sabacc, the break-out tactical Sabacc game.

WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT IT? - The deck is split into two suits - Blood and Sand - which are subtracted from each other in your hand. It has two kinds of wild card - the Imposter and the Sylop. The Multiversal Export deck also includes the games' Shift Tokens as a third suit of cards.

78 CARD CENTRAN ORACLE DECK

WHERE HAVE YOU SEEN IT? - In the 1983 Lando Calrissian novels - The Mindharp of Sharu, The Flamewinds of Oseon, and The Starcave of Thonboka. The first ever depictions of the game.

WHAT CAN YOU PLAY WITH IT? - Centran Sabacc, a twist on Classic that uses 'Wild Fives' to change the balance of everyone's hand.

WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT IT? - It's identical to the Classic Deck, except that the special Aspect Suit has 22 cards with unique identities. The deck can also be used as an Oracle Deck for fortune-telling, which Lando does in the novels. You can buy the Oracle version of this deck, or our Classic Deck converts between Classic and Centran.
